In this busy world of high achievement and career focus it is important to find some time to “just be”. A quiet
self-acceptance and strength from within are some of the tools we encourage on the yoga mat during your class.
The physical aspect of yoga can be uniquely designed around your lifestyle and requirements whilst the gentle art of meditation and breathwork can help to calm and focus the mind.
I am a qualified British Wheel of Yoga Teacher. My style is quite rejuvenative, drawing from many traditions, including Iyengar for alignment, Ashtanga for stamina and Sivananda for the subtle mind and breath work. I have most recently started to follow Yoga in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli – looking at the fluidity of the postures and listening to the resistence in the body to stop and ease into a pose. Use of props and blocks are commonly used in my class and being kind to your body is paramount.
My personal path with yoga practice started in 1998 and loved it so much that I must have tried every style of yoga available in the first few years. I finally settled down to what Yoga is all about and got more involved with the philosophy and life purpose behind all these wonderful postures. I trust that I bring some of this philosophy and life meaning into my classes as well as offering a good workout for the mind and body. I also continue in my own practice, constantly becoming more aware of what yoga brings to my life and those around me.
Yoga has no boundaries inviting all ages and abilities – Yoga has proven itself for more than 2000 years as a safe, effective and intelligent exercise for the body and mind.
